I HAVE ONLY DONE WHAT I NEEDED TO DO TO SURVIVE

the days begin to blur, life falling into a sick sense of normalcy. it's enough to make coyote's skin grow tight and unsure, easy nights making for a wary and cautious loner. it is all simply too still. she greets newcomers at times, sneers at those hopeless lovers choking the camp, and keeps to herself. it's a continuous cycle, one she wishes would swallow itself already.

a wicked eye is turned towards her own body, examining tender scarring. they were never a source of dislike from the woman, even if they're jagged edges were anything but dainty and feminine. she thinks that her mother would surely pass away at the state that her once pristine young was in. she arrived damaged, bit at any healers that tried to approach a clear hazard. these cats, without a doubt, are as clueless as kits and rattlers. but she had still resided for the pure basis of survival, lest she were to deal with overhanging corvids. soulless eyes awaiting her downfall. all she had needed was rest, but the seasoned doe was not one to simply reside.

coyote was not one to follow those weak healers, but if there's one thing they were right about, was the arching of bodies. to keep it smooth and open, tensed up muscles will slow and halt. loose and fluid, if she were to repeat their words.

the sun is upon her, warm hands running through a thin and faded coat. it draws a sense of calm from the woman, a schooled face dropping into pure contempt. her shoulders have grown too tense, a body at constant edge. she's cautious of the still delicate flesh, slow movements to assure of no tearing. the roll of her joints, shoulder blades drooping and finally reaching a state of rest, all calculated movements. she's desperate in her attempt to recall those fool's own actions, how they dipped and bent.

she's never had so many calm nights and peaceful days, but from the unburdened sigh, it's a relief.

Jinx was not sure what compelled her to interact with the other molly, she had caught a glance at her over the past couple of days, seeing her in an unnatural habitat, maybe it reminded Jinx of herself when she had first joined the then Wind Runners. "Hey" Jinx greeted simply as Coyote was stretching nearby, "enjoying clan life?" The silver tabby then inquired, turning her head to groom her fur down briefly. Jinx didn't like to stare at others, so she usually found a distraction or something to do whilst she waited for a reply like she was doing now.

Post-nap rituals were something of a profession for Berrykit, and stretching- luxurious and relaxing and enough to put one back into slumber from how pleasant it was. Days blurring together... how familiar kit hood and adulthood could be! The mere concept of such a thing was unfathomable to the dappled child; of adulthood being as dull as this! Out there- just edged from her grasp- was knowledge countless, hitherto unknown, discoveries worth waiting for. Half-lidded was her gaze, olivine and unassuming, as it trained upon an unfamiliar sight. Two, in fact; a pari of she-cats that the child had not yet met.

Seeing the luxurious stretch shudder through one's body, Berrykit shambled over, head slightly tilted as if pulled by a tiny weight to one side. "Did you just finish a nap?" her soft monotone asked the question, slight interest piqued. Why else would someone have to stretch? Stiffness did not just- seize one's body up, did it?

The sun that none could hide from was upon its throne, the sky cast in complementing blues around it. New-leaf, as he recently learned it was called, provided the warmest of its ability. The rays leaving patches upon the earth for all felines alike to settle themselves into and Java was among them, his sunset and night sky clashing pelt absorbing its heat. Brilliant green hues were half-lidded, nearly closed while he drifted on the cusp of sleep until gentle conversation jerked his lulling head up, forcing his optics to remain open. Within ear-shot of the conversation, the tortoiseshell would fixate his gaze to where words had idly spilled.

The light of the superior star would grace him with the ability to see a molly's true form, her ghostly decorated body bearing more than just the average patterning. She was a purity of white embraced with dark stripes that ran to a faded appearance, like entertaining charred roots in snow. Wrapping her lean, muscled limbs was scarring.. The two-toned male would prop up his relaxed form onto an elbow, his body slouching to one side as he attempted to see more of the stretched female. Her eyes were deep, sapphire blues the type that would put the skies' color's to shame. All around her was the lingering aura was strength, this was the type of feline he had seldom crossed upon his time in the alleys.

Silver and white would welcome a spine of darkness. Long-furs shifted with each movement from the molly, frays dipping to a silent dance of their owner's whelm. A delicate pink tongue brushing down some of the rebellious hairs while awaiting a response from the other. A curious dark ear would twitch slightly at the interaction. While he was still trying to figure out certain aspects of cats that lived in Windclan, there were few he could single out for having past lives before they joined the moorland esse. This tufted ear femme was one he thought he had pinned, along with the fadedly marked she-cat she spoke to.

Then youth ambled its way over to the conversed femmes. A coloration near to his own save for the white clouds that blessed the child's skies. His tail would furl and unfurl from its tip whilst resting in the plush grass blades, like the head of an awaiting adder. There was much more to this little figure. Her face ran perfectly symmetrical, up until her jaw which was jutted crookedly to the side with an angle. in addition, there was a missing paw from her rear back left limb. Yet she spoke as normally as other kits, she walked with little of a hitch. He could see such strength shining through the young being.

I HAVE ONLY DONE WHAT I NEEDED TO DO TO SURVIVE

she isn't expecting company, rather, she didn't invite any of them to strike up a conversation with her. a cool and level gaze meets with jinx once again. they simply keep running into each other. loner turned loyal member, she still thinks its such a shame. to be so capable only to fall from grace, being beholden by unworthy claws. but she won't try to persuade her to join the wilds again. it's simply not coyote's place. less competition anyways.

"never." it almost pulls a bark of a laugh from the faded doe, she would rather lose her tongue than to admit she is enjoying such a soft life. nor will she ever put herself in a position to allow jinx to grow smug. the woman already had to watch her flustered affections, that was enough for coyote. "moor cats function too differently. you're all such strange creatures." it is not as if she hadn't lived within groups before, but even then they were distant. simply cats living near each other, but never truly going beyond the simple interactions or forming families.

a kit intrudes, now forcing coyote to pay attention to herself and the young. instincts, she blames. still left over from her time of nursing. "no, no." coyote mutters this answer, hiding a breath of discomfort from a particularly far reach. "stretching keeps your muscles loose. fluid. you'll be able to move better, faster." she tries to make it sound a bit more interesting for the young, maybe the woman will be able to influence her in a way. she'll never object to teaching young kits to strengthen themselves when they can. if the child wants to join coyote, she'll gladly teach her.

the feeling of eyes roving is never knew, but it is still enough to test coyote's patience. the tom she quickly spots is recognized as the charmer, having regretfully heard his fluffy speeches. if there was ever a thing she had hated most in a tom, it was those with an overzealous heart and ways to charm unsuspecting does to their nest. their pathetic partners, even worse men. "you-" she calls out, never to address the fool by his name. he hadn't earned that. "either join us or quit staring. quick ways to lose an eye." the conversation can handle multiple, it's what it was made for. but she won't take to his staring.

Stretch called them strange; that, Berrykit could agree with. They were a ragtag bunch, weren't they? An assortment of loud, quiet, cheery, mopey, cynical... one would think a big group of wild-cats, under the same rules and held beneath the same values, would hold similar values. That was one of the fascinating nuances of life; how different cats could end up even when raised beneath the same roof (for lack of a better phrase). Grinding her mismatched teeth, Berrykit looked up at Stretch, deep in thought.

Ah- could something as simple, as effortless, as stretching really be so useful? Berrykit was driven from many activities due to the effort involved in participation, but... well, she already stretched. Did that mean she would grow to be lithe and deft? Would stretching help her overcome the hopping walk that characterised her movement, loud and hobbling when everything else about her was rather quiet. "Huh..." A breath of a sound, wispy, in bewilderment. Voice lilted by a smile that was barely detectable on her face, she spoke again. "Is there... a specific way to do it?"

There's a shift in her speech, from the brush of brambles to the enveloping petals welcoming a dewdrop. It was all about who approached her. Youth was hard to contain a curt appearance, or at least the tom thought that as the truth of the matter. An ear of darkness would twitch at his thorny address from the faded patterned molly, her cool cut sapphires hardly giving him a moments glance. A soft exhale of a chuckle would breeze by his nostrils, one corner of his maw curling in a simply amused half-smile. "You're offering me a free conversation starter? How kind." It was lucid sarcasm that lacked any malice to the threat that had been dealt. He didn't blame her, his staring was rude. The curse of being an observer he supposed.

The tortoiseshell would rise to his paws with a back arching stretch and a maw parting in a silent yawn, ebony claws participating as they freed themselves from their sheaths momentarily. Giving a small tussle of his head after recovering from the sprawl he'd incline himself to joining by the group of felines. "Mm.. There's not really a set standard for stretching, sprout." He'd voice himself before sitting down, his vibrant green gaze flickering over to Jinx before he nodded his head in a greeting. "If you're doing an activity it's good to stretch before, keep you loose and nimble."
