THE EMPYREAN GARDEN
The Empyrean Garden, or simply put, paradise, is a neutral group whose defining traits are their devoutness, righteousness, and love for humanities and renaissance ideals. Their colors of gold, white, and maroon can be found spread throughout the land, adding to their reputation of being a vibrant group.

HISTORY
Genesis
The creation of the Empyrean Garden is said to begin with the Father deity, creating the earth and heavens where the angels reside. It was there that through his son he performed many miracles, demonstrated righteousness, faithfulness, mercy, and love, and cultivated a following of disciples that were the first angels of the Empyrean Garden.

TERRITORY
Paradise is just beyond reach, living atop high mountains that break through clouds along with a vibrant garden of green that decorates the valley below.

The Holy Kingdom - living atop a mountain in a kingdom reminiscent of an ancient roman palace where temples, columns, statues and high archways and ceilings are the prominent feature of where the empyrean angels call home.

Cradle of Gold - rivers trail into this shining lake, where gold among other precious stones can be easily found.

The Tree of Temptation - golden apples decorate the large silver-leafed tree, with black twisting branches, inscribed on the base of the tree details that whomever picks the forbidden fruit and bites into the flesh will receive knowledge beyond compare and beauty undefined.

Pool of Glass - thermal pools that have a glassy exterior to them live deep within a few of the caves found in cliffs at the base of the valley. it is said that drinking from this water during a religious rite can cause prophetic dreams of the divine.

Purgatory - a desolate, bone graveyard where demons are trapped. It is said there are layers to Purgatory that mimic the seven circles of hell. Bare trees dot the expansive desert landscape tucked away in a far corner of the garden. A red river, clouded with red sediment, runs through the area.

Aetherium - A high tower that looks like a giant spire atop one of the highest mountains, its base already breaks through the cloud cover below. It is most commonly used for spiritual practices as it is considered the closest one can get to the divine in the physical world. Messenger doves are also kept here and cared for by the apostles.

CULTURE
THE HOLY SACRAMENT Also called a baptism. Upon initiation to the garden, a small set of wings are branded into the flesh, to signify the release from mortal attachments and to awaken the spirit. Then the initiate must submerge themselves in holy water, with the help of the throne of virtue ( or the throne of dominion if the throne of virtue is unavailable ). Afterwards, willing members ( either aiding the initiate and attending the event ) must drop a little blood in a small chalice of wine where the initiate drinks it, to signify their new connection to the empyrean garden.

THE SHINING HUNT A ‘soul-raving’ chase led by the throne of power, escorted by the flank of archangels and guardian angels. the hunt is said to chase after sinners

PRIMORDIAL CEREMONY Once a Seraphim of the Empyrean Garden to success wishes to depart the title, the Cherubim steps up as the new Seraphim of the empyrean garden and bestows a wreath of gold and white upon the former leader. A grand feast is held afterwards, along with small festivities.

ATONEMENT A tradition held each year where a proxy of the son dies for the sins of the people to be reborn within three days time.

CRUCIFIXION Trial held for sinners under their God, where the accused is questioned and ultimately sentenced to a punishment based on whatever crime they've committed. Penalties can be anything from imprisonment, to torture, to even death.

ARCHANGELS AND CUSTOM TITLES When promoted to archangel, the archangel in question will have a ceremony in their name and receive a custom title based on one of the heavenly luminaries (sun, moon, mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn) to represent the personality trait they most prominently have or will grow into.

SAINTS, THE REBORN AND CUSTOM TITLES When promoted to saint, custom titles in relation to the seven heavenly virtues are awarded to represent the quality they epitomize. The reborn are given titles based on the seven deadly sins and the quality they most epitomize.

SINNER'S NIGHT A hidden decadent side to the righteous garden, a night before the Resurrection for debauchery and other sinful activities.

EVENTS Every now and then large clan-wide events are held where promotions, titles, and even gifts are given out under completion.

FESTIVALS Festivals are held each month, largely in correspondence with roman festivals. Religious rites are held and all public business is suspended for the moment. While most religious observances were monthly, some were yearly. Event details are withheld until the week of specified event.

DEATH Before a person died, it is considered it to be of great importance to receive a last kiss from their dying friend or relative, to catch their dying breath. As soon as a person was dead, his eyes were to be closed, he was to be kissed with love, and his body was to be washed. In this washing, the body was anointed with perfumes. Nard was the most usual of these, but myrrh and aloes were also used. The custom was that the body was elaborately wrapped in a shroud and the face was covered with a special cloth called a sudarium. The hands and feet were tied with strips of cloth.

MARRIAGE Before the ceremony, which was attended by a select few (most likely family), the bride would take part in a ritual cleansing. After the ceremony, the couple would attend a wedding feast in their honor.

ANGEL NAMES Angel names are aliases awarded to those who complete specific events or have shown an ultimate loyalty to the Garden.

RELIGION
While multiple religions are tolerated in the Empyrean Garden, one religion stands above the rest as the origin of the group’s faith. A largely denominational religion, the belief in three gods, referred to as Mother, the Father, and the Son, sit at the core of the Empyrean Garden as it’s beginning.
Father - creator. known to be independent, omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, righteousness, wise, and wrathful.
Mother - son’s mother. known to be forgiving, motherly, loving, and gentle.
Son- father’s proxy. known to represent joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, discipline, and humility.
